GP Vacancies

Part and full time salaried GPs are sought to work in this dynamic and friendly North Tyneside Practice.

We have the opportunity for full or part time sessions paid pro rata with 9 sessions full time, 6 weeks annual leave and pro rata bank holidays and study leave.

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of general practice for both experienced and newly qualified GPs.  We are at the forefront of new models of care, already being open 8-8 7 days a week.  This offers flexible working with shifts available both “in” and “out of hours” to suit your lifestyle.

We are an expanding GP practice whose numbers have increased from 0 to 3700 over the last 7 years.  We offer the opportunity to attend regular educational and supportive meetings both within the practice and the CCG.   We would encourage and support your area of clinical interest.

The practice hosts 1st and 2nd year medical student visits and any candidate who was interested would be welcome to join the GP team who host these. This also provides us with access to training for GPs via the medical school who are interested in medical education.

We have fantastic onsite facilities including x-ray and a walk in centre.   Applicants are eligible for NHS pension and indemnity paid for via the MDU group scheme.

If you would be interested in joining our dedicated and supportive team please contact the Practice Manager at Yvonne.scotland@nhs.net, 0191 2958520 or Battle Hill Health Centre (part of Freeman Clinics), Belmont Close, Wallsend, NE28 9DX

Clinical Pharmacist

Rebecca joined the practice in September 2016 from community pharmacy where she worked as a pharmacist manager in Whitley Bay and Peterlee.

Clinical pharmacists are highly qualified health professionals who train for many years to become specialists in medicines and how they work. Our Clinical Pharmacist is part of the general practice clinical team and has a big role to play to make sure your medicines help you get and stay well.

Rebecca is currently training to be a prescribing pharmacist; she reviews patients with long term health conditions such as hypertension, asthma, COPD and diabetes. She also sees patients for medication review, discusses side effects with patients and supports the practice with all aspects of medicines management and prescribing. Rebecca helps patients with their medications when they are discharged from hospital or when they have medicines changed at an outpatient clinic.
